Independent payment consultant — Snohomish County, WA
Most business owners don't know what they're paying to accept a card.
I'm Jon Enge. I review your processing statement line by line, show you what's actually being charged, and tell you plainly whether it's worth changing anything. Based in Stanwood, working across Snohomish County.

What I do
Statement review
Send me your last full processing statement. I'll go through it line by line and show you what each charge is, which ones are standard, and which ones exist only because nobody pushed back. If you're already in a good position, I'll tell you that and you've lost nothing but ten minutes.
Lowering what you pay
Depending on your business, that's a custom rate structure, or it's dual pricing and cash discount, where card-paying customers cover the processing cost and yours goes to near zero. Dual pricing isn't right for every business. I'll tell you honestly whether it fits yours.
Equipment and point of sale
Countertop terminals, full POS systems with inventory and staff management, mobile card readers for trades and service work, virtual terminals and invoicing for businesses that bill on terms, and QuickBooks integration so you stop entering sales twice.
Support you can actually reach
You have my cell phone. When something breaks on a Friday afternoon, you call me, not a queue. This is the entire reason my accounts stay.
Service area
I work in person across north Snohomish County and Skagit County.

About
I'm Jon Enge. I grew up on a family farm in Stanwood and I still live here.
I got into payments the way most people get into anything — I watched it go wrong. Business owners I knew were getting quietly repriced year after year by companies they never heard from, paying for line items nobody had ever explained to them, locked into contracts they didn't remember signing. Nobody was on their side of the table. That's the job I do now.
Before this I spent five seasons caddying on the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour, played professional golf in Portugal, and worked about ten seasons as a commercial fishing deckhand in Alaska. I have a business and marketing degree from Western Washington University. It's an unusual path to payment processing. What carried over is that all three of those jobs are about reading a situation carefully and telling somebody the truth about it, including when the truth isn't what they wanted.
I'm independent, which means I answer to the business owner and nobody else.
Common questions
You shouldn't, on the basis of a first conversation. Start with the statement review. It costs you nothing, you keep the analysis whether or not you work with me, and you'll know quickly whether I'm being straight with you. Several of my accounts came from owners who didn't switch the first time we talked.
No. The accounts I write are month to month with no early termination fee. If you want to leave, you leave. I'd rather earn it every month than trap you for three years.
Yes, on my cell, and you'll get me or a call back the same day. This is the part most agents don't do. It's also the reason my merchants stay.
Applications are e-signed and underwriting usually turns around in one to three business days. Equipment ships or I bring it out and set it up in person. Most businesses are running within a week of saying yes.
Nothing. I'm paid by the processor when a business decides to work with me, not by you for the review.
